In the push by Texas Republicans to post the Ten Commandments in public schools, Rebecca Smith-Nash has emerged as one of the most publicly determined parents of Houston area students in support of Senate Bill 10. Smith-Nash is among a group that has already made, purchased and donated thousands of copies of Christian directives to local classrooms.
The mother of two young sons, who is also licensed professional counselor and devout member of the Woodlands Methodist Church, has partnered with Christian and Republican groups and churches in recent months to donate about 5,000 biblical posters to school districts in Montgomery County, a suburban home to more than 700,000 people known as the most conservative counties statewide.
The founder of a foster care counseling group called Love Heals Youth appeared at the Conroe ISD Trustees Board meeting Tuesday evening to announce that she’s helped donate 330 posters to schools.
