Houston Murder Suspect Extradited from El Salvador

HOUSTON, Texas—A Houston man accused of a 2011 murder has been successfully extradited from El Salvador, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office announced on August 15.

Louis Armando Rojas, 38, is charged with murder—a first-degree felony—in the death of his ex-girlfriend’s husband in West Harris County. According to the indictment, the murder occurred in 2011 after a domestic dispute. A murder charge was filed on January 1, 2012.

In 2017, law enforcement learned that Rojas was promoting himself as a mixed martial arts fighter in El Salvador, which led to an INTERPOL Red Notice. Rojas was arrested in El Salvador on December 6, 2023, and the Government of El Salvador approved the extradition request in July 2025. He is now in the custody of Houston law enforcement…
