Man Critically Injured in Shooting at SW Houston METRO Bus Stop, Suspect Sought

A man is recovering from surgery after being critically injured in a shooting at a METRO bus stop in southwest Houston, according to local authorities. The incident occurred last night, shortly before 7 p.m., in the 8300 block of W. Bellfort, Houston Police informed Click2Houston.

Police say the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was awaiting a bus when he was approached by a masked suspect who then fired shots, striking the man twice. The suspect, described as a Black male wearing a white t-shirt, fled the scene before authorities arrived. Following the shooting, the injured man was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital, where he is said to be in critical condition. “He was transported to the hospital and is currently in surgery,” as noted by Click2Houston.

The circumstances leading to this violent encounter remain unclear. A verbal altercation was said to have taken place between the victim and the shooter just before the shots rang out.
