A shoplifting incident at a Houston shoe store escalated into aggravated robbery last month, prompting the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division to seek assistance from the public. The suspect, having concealed merchandise, threatened a store employee with a knife after being confronted for not paying.
The episode unfolded on August 14, when the yet-to-be-identified suspect entered the store located on the 11000 block of East Freeway. Surveillance footage shows the man placing items into a bag and then attempting to leave the premises. According to a statement obtained from the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division, it was when he was stopped by an employee that he pulled out a knife to quickly make his exit.
