A Houston ISD teacher assigned to stay at home during work hours will return to the classroom, albeit one 16 miles from her previous campus.
The third-grade Durham Elementary School teacher, Angela Zuccarini Kelly, was assigned to “home duty” hours after state-appointed Superintendent Mike Miles visited the campus. Durham is one of the district’s “special focus” campuses this year after it dropped in A-F state accountability ratings. The principal assigned Kelly home duty “to protect the culture,” she said.
