AG Ken Paxton hosts Houston event to defend high school Turning Point USA club

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Today, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is hosting a Houston-area event with students who were targeted for starting a Turning Point USA chapter on their high school campus.

He will speak in support of Stratford High School after private group chat message was shared on social media with the names of students interested in joining the group became the target of attacks by activists who are looking to stop potential sponsors from supporting the club.

“The far-left tried to silence these patriotic young Texans, but we will never surrender. In honor of Charlie, we will be bolder and more courageous than ever,” Paxton said. “Getting involved in the battle for the future of this country has never been more important, and it’s an honor to join these brave students as they do just that. I look forward to discussing our shared values, how we can continue to defend our freedoms.”

Paxton said the event is to stand up for students attacked for practicing their First Amendment rights. It will take place today at the Moran Hotel in CITYCENTRE and will prioritize student entry starting at 6:30 p.m.. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m…
