A disabled pony was stolen from north Houston home. Then, the community stepped up to get him back.

HOUSTON — A disabled pony stolen from a north Houston property is back home safe after a community effort helped track him down.

The 15-year-old palomino pony, named Funky Monkey, was taken from his owner’s property on Barrett Street near Tidwell and I-45 early Tuesday morning.

Surveillance video shows three suspects dragging Funky through a back fence, across a wooded area filled with trash and tires, through a shopping center, and then over Tidwell Road. Hours later, witnesses reported seeing him in a neighborhood nearly 4 miles away…
