Home for unaccompanied migrant children in Rio Grande Valley to close and layoff over 400 employees

Sunny Glen Children’s Home, a federally funded organization based in San Benito, is laying off over 400 employees at its Raymondville facility, which opened in 2019 to house unaccompanied migrant children.

The organization is closing its doors due to its grant funding ending Oct. 31, CEO Chase Palmer told the Chronicle.
