Houston is the fourth-largest city in the country, so of course, it has an extremely large number of dog owners and a growing list of dog-friendly places where pups are welcome (except for the inside of H-E-B). Now, Second Ward will officially become the home of Houston’s first members-only dog park, which features just as many amenities for the dogs as it does for their owners.
Zoomies is preparing to open this fall (no specific date has been announced) at 3123 Canal St. An acre of artificial turf, a doggie water park, and on-site groomers, trainers and veterinarians will all be available to members. Additionally, Zoomies in Houston will have boutique stores selling natural food, accessories, gourmet dog treats, and more.
Dog owners will have access to the venue’s own icehouse and patio, where they can enjoy a cold beer or cocktail while watching sports or playing an assortment of outdoor party games, as well as local food trucks. The dog park will also feature a space that will be able to host live performances and events for dogs and humans alike…
