Houston ISD terminates or reassigns nearly 450 employees as enrollment decline continues

The state’s largest school district cut teachers and reassigned hundreds of employees to “align with student enrollment.”

Houston ISD has terminated or reassigned nearly 450 employees amid ongoing enrollment declines.

The changes include cutting 160 uncertified teachers and 54 staff members as well as reassigning 232 teachers who are both certified and uncertified.
