Houston firefighter treated for heat exhaustion while battling vacant building blaze near South Loop

A Houston firefighter was taken to the hospital late Monday night while battling a massive fire at a vacant building, officials said.

According to the Houston Fire Department, the blaze broke out just after 10 p.m. Monday on Riddlewood Lane near the South Loop. Authorities said crews went into defensive mode and the fire was knocked down before it could spread to nearby buildings.
