HOUSTON — Customers of CenterPoint Energy will be paying more on their electric bills, all to cover last year’s Hurricane Beryl and other storms.

State regulators approved that plan, letting the utility charge nearly $1.2 billion. It’s about $100 million less than CenterPoint had asked for.
