Gregory Ford, an equine veterinarian based at Elite Sport Horse in Houston, faces charges of sexual battery of a minor after his arrest in central Florida late last month. Representation for the victim now says Ford could face further legal trouble due to the alleged sexual assault of more than a dozen teenage girls.
“I’ve been in contact with several victims and their families since this initial arrest and signing on for this case,” Spencer Kuvin, the lawyer representing the first alleged victim against Ford, told Chron on Friday. Kuvin added he can’t reveal identities or specifics of additional cases involving minors, though he expects to represent at least “10 to 15 victims.”
Kuvin says he was first contacted by the alleged victim’s family shortly after Ford’s arrest in Marion County, Florida. Kuvin will represent the first alleged victim—as well as any future alleged victims—in civil court, with a criminal trial set to be held in Florida this fall. Ford’s initial arraignment in criminal court is scheduled to begin on Oct. 28, with Kuvin expecting Ford to plead not guilty.
Ford, 52, works as a traveling veterinarian, specializing in competitive equine races and events across the Southeast. He’s accused of starting a sexual relationship with the alleged victim in May. According to a statement from the victim provided to Chron, Ford is accused of “weaving himself into my family’s life” as part of his grooming process.
