Fifth Ward residents say overgrown lot has become a dangerous eyesore after city stopped maintaining it

HOUSTON — In Houston’s Fifth Ward, neighbors say overgrown brush spilling into Harriman Street has become a safety hazard, blocking drivers’ views, hiding a drainage ditch and attracting illegal dumping.

For 71-year-old Morgan Peterson, the frustration has been building for years.
