Houston to open ‘super hub’ for unhoused off Emancipation under Whitmire’s plan to end homelessness

Houston officials on Monday solidified plans to purchase a property to create a “super hub” for the city’s unhoused population as a part of Mayor John Whitmire’s $70 million-a-year plan to end homelessness.

The super hub will be located at 419 Emancipation Ave. and is expected to house anywhere from 150 to 225 people at a time. It will include services for health care, psychiatric support and substance abuse. The superhub’s opening will mean the building will once again operate as a center for homeless services for the first time since 2017.
