Heartwarming: Rescuers banded together to rescue emaciated shepherd off busy Houston street

On Friday morning, an emaciated German shepherd was rescued from a busy intersection in Houston. A rescuer had arrived at the location where the dog had reported to have been seen daily for the last week. Danna slowly walked up to him, offered him some chicken, secured a lead around his neck and ushered him into her truck. Within moments the pup comfortably curled up, and they were soon on their way to the emergency veterinarian.

It had been an area resident who spotted the dog, and she reached out to social media on a Facebook lost and found pet page for help. The women said she had given the dog water and food, but he did not want to eat. The dog was not aggressive at all, but it was easy to tell he was very scared.

The woman posted the following hoping someone would be able to step up. She did caution people the area where the dog was located was not well lit after dark and could be dangerous if unfamiliar with the extremely busy intersection.

I was told he is VERY scared of people, but when I took his picture he was calm… I don’t blame him for running but please know this when / if trying to approach him.

Finding the baby was fate and i am so thankful he’ll be receiving the love and care he needs. I mentioned to the angel that picked him up that his name should be Beans!!…
