Houston mayor, city officials provide inside look at proposed homeless center near East Downtown

HOUSTON — On Monday, city officials provided a firsthand look inside a $16 million facility planned to serve as the “front door” to Houston’s homeless response system.

The city has announced plans to purchase the former migrant shelter at 419 Emancipation Avenue and convert it into a 24-hour center, that some have called a “super hub.”
