Houston police make two gruesome discoveries in 48-hour period

Detectives with the Houston Police Department have made at least two shocking discoveries in the overnight hours over the last couple of days. While the cases do not appear related, they are disturbing and grim to say the least. Because police have limited information on both incidents, the public is being asked to help them piece it all together.

Houston police confirm that on Thursday night, just after 10 p.m., a man between 40-50 years old was found hanging underneath the middle of the overpass in the 7600 block of North Loop East and 610 North. How he died exactly remains under investigation, but authorities said he suffered burns to his body. Forensic examiners will be performing an autopsy to figure out if he died from the burns or the hanging.

Police told KHOU 11 it’s “highly unlikely” that the man took his own life, but admit they do not know the circumstances surrounding the incident. Additionally, no witnesses have come forward during the early part of the investigation…
