Three arrested after high-speed chase on South Gulf Freeway

LEAGUE CITY, Texas — Three individuals were apprehended following a vehicle pursuit on the South Gulf Freeway late Friday night, according to the League City Police Department.

A 16-year-old male from Galena Park was charged with evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance. Daniel Jimenez, a 17-year-old from Houston, and Maya Ruiz, a 17-year-old from Galena Park, were also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest on foot, stated the department.

The incident began around 11:50 p.m. when Officer Chipres observed a black Nissan Sentra speeding southbound on IH-45. The driver failed to stop, leading to a pursuit that ended when the vehicle lost control and came to rest in a ditch near Delaney Road…
