Between October 28 and 30, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted targeted operations in the Houston area. These actions led to the arrest of several individuals who were in the country without legal status and had criminal convictions. ICE officials stated that their operations aimed to support public safety during the Halloween period, despite a government shutdown.
Among those arrested was Salvador Ramirez-Carrillo, a Mexican national with multiple illegal entries and convictions for aggravated assault and drunk driving. Other individuals arrested included Brayan Jose Cruz-Mendez and Rony Andy Martinez Lopez, both from Honduras, who were convicted of sexual crimes against minors.
