HOUSTON (KIAH) — Hundreds of families waited in a winding line outside Houston’s BakerRipley East Aldine Campus Food-Fair event. Many were carrying coolers and wagons, all hoping to fill a grocery bag before supplies ran out.
The event, hosted in partnership with the Houston Food Bank, was open to the public. It drew more than 300 families, who have either already needed help or have been affected by the government shutdown.
