Uber driver accused of kidnapping in Friendswood has charges dropped

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Charges have been dropped against an Uber driver in Friendswood who was accused of kidnapping a passenger for an alleged sexual assault back in August.

Attorneys with Sameh Chami said that the charges were dropped after the defense counsel for the case presented evidence that he could not have committed the crime.

“Surveillance video from a nearby daycare confirms that the timeline of events made the allegations against our client impossible,” said Brett Landriault, an  attorney representing Chami. He added that forensic results further supported Chami’s innocence…
