On November 4, 2025, at approximately 12:30 AM, Sergeant B. Covey conducted a traffic stop in the 12400 block of Galveston Road on a GMC Yukon for expired motor vehicle registration. Sergeant Covey made contact with and identified the driver as 70 year-old Neil Hopkins. Sergeant Covey conducted a probable cause-based search of Hopkins’ person and the vehicle and located approximately 4.5 grams of Methamphetamine.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Hopkins was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. His bond was set at $2,500.
