Several local Muslim leaders gathered Friday to condemn the governor’s attacks on the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a national civil rights organization.
Standing in front of reporters Friday, Imam Ehteshamul Haque made a call for peace and equality.
Haque was one of several Muslim leaders who gathered at the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Houston chapter to condemn Gov. Greg Abbott’s designation of CAIR as a foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organization.
“I ask you, oh Almighty God, to grant our governor a good health, a sound mind and divine help to think about the minorities of his state … and protect them,” Haque said…
