ICE Arrests Over 3,500 Individuals Convicted of Serious Crimes in Houston, Including Child Predators and Gang Members

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 3,593 individuals in Houston, Texas, over a six-week period during the recent government shutdown. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that those arrested included people convicted of crimes such as sexual assault of children, gang activity, kidnapping, and murder.

Among those arrested were Leo Michel Acosta Sanchez, a Mexican national with an Interpol Red Notice for aggravated homicide, and Ramiro Ricardo Maldonado-Trevino, a Mexican national and known MS-13 gang member who had entered the U.S. illegally multiple times.

Others arrested included repeat offenders who had been previously removed from the country, as well as individuals convicted of aggravated sexual assault of minors, online solicitation of children, and other violent crimes…
