Houston’s best and worst charter schools, according to new Children at Risk ratings

More Houston-area charter schools improved their grades than declined, according to the latest school rankings from the nonprofit and advocacy group Children at Risk.

Just under half the Houston-area charter schools improved their ratings from 2024 to 2025, according to a Chronicle analysis, following a trend among traditional public schools in the region.
