Houston’s Frenchy’s Chicken Sets Sights on Nationwide Expansion with Plans for 500 New Stores

Frenchy’s Chicken, a well-known Houston-based fried chicken chain, announced plans to open 500 new locations across the United States over the next ten years. According to Chron, the expansion has already begun with new stores in Port Arthur and Rosharon, Texas, marking the brand’s growth beyond its regional market.

The chain currently operates 33 locations in the Greater Houston area. Frenchy’s attributes its planned expansion to the popularity of its Creole-seasoned fried chicken. In a statement reported by Click2Houston, the company said its growth is gaining attention in major cities across the country, setting the stage for its rollout beyond Texas.

Frenchy’s Chicken was founded in 1969 by New Orleans native Percy “Frenchy” Creuzot. Over the years, the restaurant has been recognized in the Houston Chronicle’s Top 100 Restaurant List and has attracted attention from public figures such as Beyoncé.
