Despite being the fourth-largest city in the country, Houston has a reputation for artists skipping it on tour, opting for Dallas and Austin. So when artists actually make it a point to come to Houston, you would think a crowd would be extremely grateful. Unfortunately for underground rapper OsamaSon, the crowd at his Houston show on Nov. 26 was on its worst behaviour, throwing shoes at the rapper until he left the stage.
OsamaSon is an underground rapper from Columbus, Ohio, who specializes in “rap rage,” an experimental, high-energy sound in the lineage of artists like Playboi Carti. His music is very relevant on TikTok, which has allowed him to cultivate a dedicated audience. He started getting traction with the release of songs “Cts-V” and “Troops” and has since released three albums since 2023, with his prior two releases charting on the Billboard 200. Fans highly anticipated his stop in Houston, but some bad apples in the bunch ruined it for everyone. Videos show fans throwing shoes on stage, although the shoes did not appear to hit the artist.
