On November 28, 2025, Houston police responded to a family disturbance at 1500 East Crosstimbers Street. A man reportedly threatened to harm himself with a handgun. Officers, including Officer G. Zimmerman from the Northeast Patrol Division, arrived at about 12:55 p.m. They found the man holding a gun to his head.
During the encounter, the man shot himself. Officer Zimmerman also fired his weapon in the man’s direction. The man’s identity has not been released. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
