Man in wheelchair hit by METRO train near downtown Houston, police say

HOUSTON (KIAH) — METRO says a pedestrian was hit by a light rail train at the intersection of Main Street and Elgin Street on Saturday night.

According to METRO, the victim was in a wheelchair trying to cross the tracks at the median when the train clipped them and pulled them underneath the light rail car.

Houston Fire Department crews got the victim out and they were taken to Ben Taub Hospital…
