Houstonians may have noticed a fresh face delivering their morning news. In November, Vanessa Pacheco joined CW39 Houston as a morning news reporter, making her on-air debut on Nov. 13.
The Houston native shared her excitement on social media ahead of her first broadcast. “So thrilled to officially join the team at CW39 — right here in the 4th largest city and #6 TV market in the U.S.!” she wrote on Nov. 10. “This is a dream come true! I can’t wait to share stories from the community I’ve always called home.”

Pacheco returns to Houston from FOX10 WALA in Mobile, Ala., where she covered breaking news and anchored the morning traffic report. Before that, she was the morning news anchor at WDAM 7 in Hattiesburg, Miss., where she began her broadcasting career in 2012. Over the years, she earned multiple awards from the Associated Press Broadcasters and the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters, including honors for Best Investigative Reporting, Best Documentary and Best Franchise Reporting.
A graduate of Grambling State University, Pacheco holds a master’s degree in mass communications. She was also a standout athlete in college, earning a scholarship to play on the women’s soccer team and helping her team win two SWAC Championship rings during her four-year career…
