Super Feast still on despite food being thrown out by Houston Health Department

HOUSTON (KIAH) — The City Wide Club is in great need of volunteers and donations after Houston’s health inspector threw out a lot of food ahead of its annual Super Feast.

The city’s health department released a statement that said inspectors “identified cooked rice that did not meet the FDA’s required cooling standards.” Health inspectors are supposed to be back at the George R. Brown Convention Center on Wednesday for another round of checks before the Super Feast begins at 10 a.m.

However, as of 11 a.m. Wednesday, food has yet to be served at the event…
