A late-night crash on North Wayside Drive turned deadly Tuesday when a vehicle struck a 45-year-old cyclist in an intersection, killing him at the scene and triggering an active Houston police investigation.
What Investigators Reported
According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called around 10:40 p.m. to the 1300 block of North Wayside Drive after a black GMC Yukon traveling northbound hit the cyclist in the intersection.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division listed Sgt. D. Griffiths and Officer J. Johnson on the preliminary report and said paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police said the victim is a 45-year-old man, and his identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The Yukon’s driver, a 38-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, as reported by ABC13 Houston. As of now, authorities have not announced any charges while the investigation continues…
