Armed Intoxicated Suspect Fatally Shot by Houston Police Officers

HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of an armed male suspect by HPD officers early Friday morning at 13351 Cityscape Avenue in the South Acres/Cremont Park area. The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. on December 26.

HPD officers R. Hernandez, J. Rodriguez Juarez, and M. Villarreal, assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division, discharged their weapons during the encounter and were not injured. The suspect’s identity is pending notification to next of kin by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to HPD Homicide Division detectives J. Windham and A. Henderson, officers were responding to a report that an intoxicated male had struck a vehicle and threatened a female with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect inside his vehicle, armed with at least one firearm.
