Houston man arrested after breaking into home

A Houston man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a home and assaulting a victim while a protection order was in effect. According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence in Houston during the early evening hours of December 28. A probable cause affidavit states that officers determined 36-year-old John Carter had forcibly entered the home while intoxicated and struck the victim multiple times in the face. Investigators confirmed the victim had an active protection order against Carter at the time of the incident. Carter was taken into custody and is facing two felony charges, including First-Degree Burglary and Second-Degree Domestic Assault, along with a misdemeanor charge of Violation of a Protection Order.
