A late-night argument between former neighbors in northwest Houston exploded into gunfire yesterday, ending in a roughly two-hour standoff with police, one man in the hospital, and another headed to jail.
Houston officers were called around 1 a.m. to the Spring Branch area, where they found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. Medics took him to a hospital, and he was expected to recover. The suspected shooter initially refused officers’ commands to come out, holding out inside a home until he finally surrendered around 3 a.m., according to Houston police.
According to Click2Houston, police said the confrontation started when the wounded man went to the house to collect his belongings, and the argument between the former neighbors escalated until shots were fired.
