TOPEKA (KSNT) – An Idaho company is recalling over 38,000 cases of tater tots sold in 26 states over possible contamination with bits of plastic, according to federal health officials.
The Food and Drug Administration reports that McCain Foods USA Inc. is voluntarily recalling around 38,853 cases of tater tots, including the Ore-Ida Tater Tots and Sysco Imperial Potato Tater Barrel products.
The products, packaged in clear, unlabeled poly bags per case, are reportedly contaminated with “clear hard plastic fragments” and were distributed in 26 states across the nation.

The states affected by the recall, which was initiated on Dec. 3, 2025, are Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
