Mexican H-E-B? Texans bemoan only 2 ‘Mi Tienda’ stores in the state

With dozens of H-E-B store locations spread across Bexar County, it seems like San Antonians are simply spoiled with affordable shopping options from the Texas-born grocer.

However, Texans (and San Antonio shoppers especially) are bemoaning the sparse spread of one rare offshoot store owned by H-E-B, dubbed Mi Tienda. The store is an elusive grocer that specializes in vending authentic Mexican and Central American products, such as aguas frescas, handmade piñatas, fresh-made pan dulce, a wide variety of fresh and cooked carne and so, so much more.

There are only two locations in the Lone Star State. Both of them are in the Houston area, with the store’s first outpost opening in 2006.
