HOUSTON, TX – A multi-agency manhunt has ended with the arrest of a 19-year-old suspect wanted for the New Year’s Eve killing of a man in Northwest Harris County.
Xavier Andre Pipkin-Jarrell was taken into custody on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Comal County. The arrest was a coordinated effort between the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Violent Criminals Apprehension Team (VCAT) and the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
The New Year’s Eve Shooting
The investigation began on the morning of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, when HCSO deputies responded to a call for service in the 16000 block of West Road.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Dennis Maldonado Tejeda, 26, deceased inside a vehicle. Investigators determined that Tejeda had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Homicide detectives eventually identified Pipkin-Jarrell as the suspect and filed a warrant for Capital Murder.
