Bomb Squad Called After New Homeowners Find Live Ammunition and Grenades Inside Their House

Owners of a recently purchased home in Houston had a surprise waiting for them, and it wasn’t from the neighbors.

In a news release obtained by PEOPLE, the Harris County Constable Precinct 3 Office said that dispatchers received a call on Saturday, Jan. 10, from the owners about explosives that had been found inside their residence, located in the 7400 block of John Ralston Road.

According to authorities, sheriff’s deputies arrived at the property where the new homeowners showed them the ammunition and other firearm-related items, including suspected grenades and improvised explosive devices — prompting a call to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad.
