A shelter-in-place ended up issued following a chemical release Friday morning at the Lubrizol Corporation facility in Deer Park, Texas, city officials said.
The shelter-in-place order ended up issued Friday, January 9 as a precaution for industrial sites north of Highway 225, including the Lubrizol facility, Deer Park city officials said. Officials said there was no danger to nearby homes and the Lubrizol Emergency Response Team was handling the situation.
In a statement, Lubrizol said the incident occurred when its crews were performing maintenance on a processing unit, and “the non-operational equipment experienced an unanticipated release.”…
