It seems there has been at least one restaurantclosing dailyin the Houston area since the start of the new year. The latest domino to fall is a suburban location of a prominent Southeast Texas chain.
The Union Kitchen at 9920 Gaston Rd., #100, closed Jan. 11, according to Gr8 Plate Hospitality, which owns and operates the restaurant chain. In a statement Tuesday, Gr8 Plate owner Paul Miller said his company is “deeply grateful to our loyal guests who made this location such a special place.” The Katy location opened in June 2020.
“We invite guests to visit our other restaurants and are working closely with our team members to offer opportunities at other Gr8 Plate Hospitality locations,” Miller said.
Union Kitchen is among multiple concepts with Gr8 Plate, joining Jax Grill, Passerella Ristorante & Bar and Vine Memorial. Jax was the first concept under the Gr8 Plate banner, established in 1993 at 6510 S. Rice Ave. in Bellaire, a location that is still in operation…
