On 01/12/2026 at approximately 12:56 AM, K-9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop at the 11100 block of the Gulf Fwy on a white Lexus for multiple violations. Deputy Peters made contact with the driver, later identified as 61-year-old Kelvin Menefee. During the stop, Precinct 8 K9 Duke was deployed for an open-air sniff on the vehicle, and a subsequent search revealed a bag containing approximately 5.2 grams of crack cocaine, as well as a crack pipe. Menefee was placed into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Bond been set at $80,000.
