Sugar Land Physician’s License Suspended After Performing Surgery While Intoxicated

SUGAR LAND, TX – The Texas Medical Board has temporarily suspended the Texas medical license of Azul Shiraz Jaffer, M.D., after determining that his continued practice of medicine poses an ongoing threat to public welfare.

According to the Board, a disciplinary panel issued the emergency suspension on December 30, 2025, without prior notice. The action took effect immediately.
