Restaurants are a defining feature of Houston. And while this time of year typically brings a number of closures, there are a slew of openings to look forward to in 2026.
Among the most anticipated are a new, yet-to-be-named restaurant from Justin Yu and Bobby Heugel, a sister restaurant to Toca Madera and Terry Black’s BBQ. This is also the year several popular pop-ups are making the leap to brick-and-mortar. No matter how tough the business can be, ambitious food is still being made in Houston.
