The winter storm this weekend froze out some of Houston’s restaurants, too.
Many closed down preemptively amid uncertainty about how bad the storm would be. Those that stayed open reported lessened traffic. It’s already been a difficult year or two for restaurants — higher costs of food, slowing customers, an uncertain economy — and this weekend, owners said, felt like just one more blow.
From a business perspective, “it’s awful,” said Tracy Vaught, owner of H-Town Restaurant Group. “It’s just awful.”…
