Traffic roared overhead on Thursday morning while, below the tangle of I-10 and U.S. 59, Houston police opened a death investigation after a body was discovered near the Nance Street underpass. Crews and investigators moved into the area in the midmorning hours as vehicles continued to roll by above. Authorities have not released the person’s name or an official cause of death.
According to ABC13, the Houston Police Department said officers were dispatched at 11:12 a.m. to the 2699 Nance Street area after a TxDOT contractor found the body and reported it to police. HPD told ABC13 that investigators are looking into whether the death could be weather-related as temperatures dropped across the region.
