Houston-sold supplement linked to multistate Salmonella outbreak

A recalled dietary supplement sold by a Houston company is now at the center of a multistate Salmonella outbreak, prompting federal health officials to warn consumers across Texas to stop using the product immediately.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says Why Not Natural Organic Moringa Green Superfood powder has been recalled after being linked to a Salmonella outbreak that has sickened dozens of people nationwide and sent 14 to the hospital.

Federal health officials say the outbreak tied to moringa leaf powder has sickened at least 65 people across 28 states, according to the FDA’s outbreak investigation. No deaths have been reported.
