Mother says Houston ISD minimizing what happened when her pre-K daughter was placed in vehicle with strangers

HOUSTON — A Houston family is outraged after their 4-year-old pre-K student at Bastian Elementary was allowed to leave campus with a stranger, even after telling staff she didn’t know the driver.

The girl is back home safely, but her mother says Houston ISD’s response falls short and raises serious questions about dismissal procedures.

The child’s parents have been the only people who’ve picked her up since school began, and her mother says that should’ve been a key indicator along with her daughter reportedly telling that school employee she didn’t know the driver…
