Tex-Mex restaurant in the Galleria permanently shuts down

HOUSTON — A highly visible Tex-Mex restaurant in The Galleria mall has quietly closed after operating for over seven years.

Blanco Cocina & Cantina, which opened in December 2018 as Blanco Tacos & Tequila, marked Phoenix-based Fox Restaurant Concepts’ first Houston location of the Mexican concept. The Houston Business Journal visited the restaurant to confirm the restaurant was permanently closed.

It also has been removed from The Galleria’s website as well as the chain’s own website. Fox Restaurant Concepts and Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc., which owns The Galleria, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. CultureMap first reported on the closure…
